Hey everyone, my name is Jeff…. and this is all about who I am.  I was a “normal kid” all throughout junior high / high school / college.  I played basketball, (only D3, I was not important! lol), hung out with friends, and wondered what I was going to do for the rest of my life.  For a long time, I wanted to be a police officer.  I was even offered a position in a small town near where I lived.  I was excited… I was a senior in college, and I was already being offered my dream job!  Unfortunately though, very soon thereafter I injured my lower back and was in surgery for my L5-S1 Disks.  While recovering, I somehow came to the realization that this was not what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

At that time it was the year 2004…Because of the surgery I realized I wasn’t going to be able to play basketball that year, I now had no clue what I wanted to do with my life, and I needed something to focus my time and energy on while I was recovering.  That was where my quest and passion to become the strongest person I could become, physically and mentally, began.  I know this blog has absolutely nothing to do with weight training, health, nutrition, etc… but let me explain….

I had always had a fascination with strength.  For some reason though, I never picked up a weight.  Throughout high school and college, I was just the guy who would be like, “Oh yea Coach, I went to the weight room earlier… great workout. Meanwhile, I would do 10 triceps pushdowns and call it a day.  See, I knew I wanted to be big and strong, yet I had absolutely no self discipline and therefore just continued do nothing about it.  While laying in bed recovering though, I had all the time in the world.  I started to immerse myself in the world of strength training, nutrition and supplements.  After a couple weeks, I became obsessed!  All I wanted to do was further my knowledge base and read every single thing I could get my hands on.  I immediately searched out forums, and searched google to identify the most reliable places to obtain my info.  Finally, I had come across my passion!

Fast forward a few years… I had finally finished school, I had been weight training for a while, and I had attained a pretty good job in the medical device industry. Things were going well, but there was still something missing.  At that time, I ended up going out to California for a wedding.  It was a place I had always wanted to move to, but I looked at it as something that I wouldn’t be able to do for quite a while.  While I was visiting however, a friend made me aware of a great job with a company who was a competitor of the company I was currently working for.  I immediately searched out the number of the hiring manager, and left him a voicemail. He called me back a couple hours later, had me come in to interview the next morning, and 2 months later I found myself being offered this great opportunity in California…before I knew it, my car was packed and I was driving across the country with all my things about to begin the next chapter in my life!

We’re getting a little bit closer to Internet Marketing, but not quite yet…  When I applied for the position, I knew there was an incredible powerlifting gym near where I was going to be in California.  This was a place that had developed many top lifters from scratch, and had them go on to accomplish amazing things.  I knew if I wanted to continue on in my quest to become the strongest I could become, this was the place I had to go.

Fast forward to where we are now in 2015.  Since joining my gym, I have become stronger mentally and physically than I ever could have imagined.  Accomplishing things I never dreamed were possible in the gym, built my confidence to the point where I feel I can accomplish anything.  This is finally where Internet Marketing comes in.  For many years I’ve wanted to build my own business.  I was always interested in building something on the internet, but like so many others, I just did not know where to start.  I would read books, blogs, watch videos, purchase products, etc, etc and nothing helped me as a “newbie” to the game.  As I continued to read though, I did start to pick some things up.  I would read a few different blogs every night, read at least a book per week, and I told myself that I was going to put the dedication that I put into my lifting, into creating something online.

As I continued to plow forward, I came across my current mentor, John Thornhill.  The program is called “Partnership to Success”, and it’s basically a 1 year coaching program that teaches you internet marketing from scratch.  I’m now about 4 months in, I’ve learned more than I could have hoped for, and I still have 8 more to go.  It’s not easy, and it gets harder as the weeks go on, but it’s what I was looking for and what I needed to get me started.

So what’s my goal then?  As I said, for so long I was completely stuck with no clue what was what.  My main goal is to help other “newbies” to truly understand the different ways of making money online.  I want to teach others how to build their own websites, how to get traffic, how to actually monetize, and I want to teach it in a way that they will understand it! That’s now to say I don’t want to write more in depth types of articles as well as my knowledge base expands, but my main goal is to help people and give the best content I can to anyone who should choose to read it.

I’ll continue to post new blog articles and will soon be putting up some video / pdf tutorials on different topics.  I will also be coming out with my first product on how to build traffic within the next 6 months or so.

The future is exciting, and I truly appreciate you taking the time to read this!

    Jeff,

I am just getting started in P2S. I have a question for you. If I go to jeffamiller.com, I am redirected to your blog. Would you mind telling me how you did that?

    Thanks,
    Bob

How to Re-direct from the root of the domain to the blog:

This is how you re-direct, step by step (assuming you signed up for hosting with D9)? If you signed up with hostgator / blue host / etc. I couldn’t tell you for sure, but I would still follow the basic steps here or I would do some searching within those specific sites / on google for, “how to set up a re-direct”.

Also, it’s in Week 4, video 5… “Essential Tasks”.

      1. Go to your CPanel in your hosting account
      2. Once in CPanel, you’ll see categories of “preferences, mail, files, logs, etc”… scroll down to “Domains”.
      3. In the Domains list, choose “redirects”.
      4. Now you will see the first box where it says, “** all public domains **”… if you click in there you should see the option to choose your website. Choose your website as the option (ex. I chose http://www.Jeffamiller.com)
      5. Once you’ve chosen your website, right underneath where it says “redirects to”, type in your website/blog (for example, I entered http://Jeffamiller.com/blog/ )
      6. Right below, Click “add” in that same box.

You should now be good to go. Go to your browser and type in your website, without the blog portion and it should re-direct you!

Hope that helped, let me know that it worked! Goodluck!

Thanks Jeff, it works the same way in HostGator. I never thought to look at the cPanel and I didn’t especially want to try the coding solutions I found on the internet.

Check out this site… it will tell you exactly how to make your site mobile friendly – https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6001177?hl=en

This link will analyze your site (just type in your url), and tell you if it is mobile friendly or not –
    https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly/

One last really helpful tool is –
    https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/

When you type in your URL, it will give you a desktop and mobile “score”, and tell you the speed / user experience for users on both. It will give you any and all issues, as well as an explanation on how to fix them.

    Hope this helps!
